This is a collection of demos recorded in Berlin during the summer of 2022. I recorded these over a period of 13 days while isolating with covid in Dr. Rudi's apartment in Pankow. *Additional overdubs were added in my home in Santa Cruz. The songs reflect a time of sickness, creativity, boredom, sadness, joy, and longing. Joy in Living “Say Cheese & Die!!”

The ‘Joy in Living’ is the bliss that one might experience while realizing one’s own threshold for continuing. Playing while on pause, this album was born out of the Covid-19 era. The mood of these songs reflects some of the stretching I did while isolating and wearing my comfort mask; Longing for closeness within the persisting distance. I hope that this collaboration, (between these songs and your curiosity), is as consoling as it was for me to create it.

This album was slowly and sporadically recorded at Secret Bathroom (Oakland), First Church of the Buzzard (Oakland), Cockroach Rhythm (Watsonville), Twink Haus (Santa Cruz), and Happy Place Studios (Aptos) over the course of 6+ years. aka whenever it felt fun!

The good-sounding parts were recorded by Andrew Oswald and HL Nelly, and the bad-sounding parts were recorded by yours truly.
